From 22nd to 24th September 2010, the officials’ delegation of the Institute of Foreign Affairs led by Ms. Malayvieng Sakonhninhom, the Director, had a working visit to the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV).
The corp paid a courtesy visit to Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Bui Thanh Son at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ headquarters, Number 1 Ton That Dam and had a courtesy meeting with Academy Director Duong Van Quang at DAV.
In three working days at DAV, the delegation of Institute of Foreign Affairs, Laos and Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam had academic discussions on issues of mutual concern such as the Mekong cooperation, the South China Sea issue, the Vietnam –Laos relations, Foreign Service work and local staffs training, etc.
The two sides agreed to have regular and profound academic exchange between the two institutes – DAV and IFA – on issues of Mekong River, the South China Sea as well as the international and regional situation.
The working visit with DAV’s Institute of Foreign Affairs of Laos has ended successfully. This is one of the regular activities of the Institute for Foreign Policy and Strategic Studies in particular and DAV in general to promote understanding and solidarity with universities, research institutes in the region and in the world, while helping the researchers to share experiences, knowledge on issues of mutual concern.
