Bachelor's degree program in International Economics and International Business (Faculty of International Economics) evaluation - Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam

At 8:30, November 28, 2023, an Evaluation session for the Bachelor's degree program in International Economics and International Business of the Faculty of International Economics, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, took place. After nearly 3 hours of serious work, the result was 100% of the votes of the Evaluation Council agreeing to approve the training program.

The Evaluation Council for Undergraduate Training Programs in International Economics and International Business included 5 members who are leading experts in the field of Economics and international business from prestigious national and international universities: The Chairman of the Council was Dr. Nguyen Thi Thin - (Director General of Department of Education and Training), Critic 1 was Dr. Vu Thanh Huong (Deputy Head of the Department, Faculty of Economics and International Business, University of Economics and Business, Vietnam National University), Critic 2 was Dr. Cao Thi Hong Vinh (Lecturer, School of Economics and International Business, Foreign Trade University), 2 critics were Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai (Responsible for International Business, Swinburne University), MSc. Pham Thi Thanh Huyen (Alternate Head of the Testing and Education Quality Assurance Department, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam) and secretary, MSc. Do Thuy Linh (Training Department, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam).

On the educational institute side, there was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoang Linh – Head of the Faculty, PhD. Nguyen Thi Minh Phuong - Deputy Dean, along with all members of the team constructing the Bachelor program in International Economics and International Business of the Faculty of International Economics, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.

Speaking at the opening of the evaluation session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoang Linh, the representative of the program development team, made a preliminary report on the goals, meaning, value, and educational orientation of the two majors’ Bachelor's programs to the Council, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thin, Chairman of the Council, recognized the efforts of the Faculty of International Economics in its recent development process. The Faculty has achieved a number of significant achievements in the 2021-2022 period and the 2022-2023 period in the fields of enrollment and building interdisciplinary educational programs.

The content of the educational program was evaluated very positively by the Evaluation Council, because it was built based on the Framework Program issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, regarding the programs of many prestigious national and international universities, meeting the needs of learners, especially following the socio-economic situation of Vietnam and the region. In addition, the goal of the educational program was to ensure generality and describe the output standards of learners, and after completing the program, they will have enough knowledge and skills to meet their career needs. Besides, the sections in the educational program were distributed reasonably, emphasizing both theory and practice, in line with the general trend.

At the same time, the Council also honestly pointed out aspects that need to be completed. The program layout and content need to closely follow the regulations of Circular 22/2017/TT-BGDDT dated September 6, 2017 of the Ministry of Education and Training; some modules need to be redistributed to each knowledge group to be more reasonable.

After nearly 3 hours of urgent and serious work with high academic content, the Council recognized, supported, and highly appreciated the Bachelor's degree program in International Economics and International Business of the Faculty of International Economics, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam. The Council completely approved the program.

At the end of the evaluation session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoang Linh, on behalf of the Program Development Team, expressed his sincerest thanks for the valuable contributions and comments of the experts in the Council; and affirmed all contributions to soon complete the educational program for both majors.

The approved educational program is the result of the continuous efforts of individuals in the program development team and the Faculty of International Economics. That result opens up new requirements and challenges for educational capacity. It is hoped that the faculty and its teachers always maintain faith, solidarity, and consensus to successfully fulfill all tasks, implement the educational program, and achieve significant success in the future.
