On the morning of April 12, 2023, in honor of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - France Diplomatic Relations (April 12, 1973 - April 12, 2023), His Excellency Nicolas Warnery, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Vietnam, and Associate Professor Dr. Duong Van Quang, former Director of the Diplomatic Academy and former Ambassador of Vietnam to Singapore and UNESCO, inaugurated the French language Library and participated in a round table on 'Vietnam - France Diplomatic Relations.' The French language Library serves as an example of collaboration between Vietnam and France in education and research.

Vietnam and France established official diplomatic relations in 1973, while Vietnam was still engaged in the war against the United States for national liberation and reunification. Throughout the challenging years of war and Vietnam's subsequent isolation, encirclement, and enduring embargo, France emerged as a crucial supporter, providing invaluable aid to Vietnam.

Notably, the construction of the French language Library at the Diplomatic Academy in 2022, supported by the French Embassy, symbolizes the strength of this collaboration. Despite its modest scale, this initiative significantly aids the teaching, research, and learning endeavors of French-speaking educators and students at the Diplomatic Academy, perpetuating and fortifying the enduring ties between these two nations.

2023, a pivotal year for Vietnam - France relations, marks the commemoration of 50 years since the inception of diplomatic ties and 10 years of strategic partnership between the two nations. The accomplished milestones underscore the vast potential within this bilateral relationship, acting as a pivotal driving force for its future progression. After the Inauguration Ceremony, a round table on Vietnam - France Diplomatic Relations stands out as a significant event within the special milestone of the bilateral Vietnam-France relationship.
