Dr. Nguyễn Hùng Sơn, President of DAV, received the delegation of the American Foreign Policy Council (AFPC)

On the afternoon of 30 October, 2025, Dr. Nguyen Hung Son, President of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) chaired a meeting with a delegation from the American Foreign Policy Council (AFPC). The delegation consisted of 9 members led by Mr. Herman Pirchner, President and Founder of AFPC.

President Nguyen Hung Son welcomed the delegation to DAV in the context of the 2025 when two countries celebrate the 30th anniversary of normalization of diplomatic relations and two years of upgrading the relationship to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. President Nguyen Hung Son hoped that AFPC and DAV would strengthen cooperation and exchanges to further promote the relationship between the two organizations as well as the two countries’ bilateral relationship. Mr. Herman Pirchner expressed his gratitude for the reception of DAV. He highly appreciated the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Viet Nam and the United States and Viet Nam's role in the Asian region.

In an open atmosphere, the two sides discussed the world and regional situation. DAV experts shared and updated information on Viet Nam's policies, guidelines, political, economic, social and foreign affairs situation and achievements. AFPC delegation members shared information on the US situation and US foreign policy. The two sides discussed new directions and cooperation opportunities between DAV and AFPC as well as between the two countries in the coming time. The APFC delegation expressed thanks to DAV for its in-depth and substantive exchanges, which helped to enhance mutual understanding.
