Introduction to the Book: "Modern Capitalism: Its Role, Impact on Global Development, and Policy Orientation for Vietnam"

       The book: “Modern Capitalism: Its Role, Impact on Global Development, and Policy Orientation for Vietnam” (Chủ nghĩa tư bản hiện đại: Vai trò, tác động đến tiến trình phát triển của thế giới và định hướng chính sách của Việt Nam), edited by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đặng Đình Quý, is a systematic scientific research work on modern capitalism. Based on clarifying the theories and role of modern capitalism, the book presents the current state of its development since 1945, particularly from 2000 to the present, across various fields including economy, politics, science and technology, education and training, and ecological environment. The book consists of four chapters:

       Chapter 1: Theoretical Basis of Modern Capitalism and its Role in Global Development. This chapter presents the approach of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh’s thought, and the theoretical understanding of the Communist Party of Vietnam when researching capitalism and its role in global development. It examines new theoretical aspects related to the development of capitalism in recent times, especially in the first decades of the 21st century.

       Chapter 2: The Current State of Modern Capitalism's Development from 1945, especially since 2000. This chapter assesses the actual state of capitalism's development in various fields such as economy, politics, society, education and training, science and technology, and the ecological environment.

       Chapter 3: The Role of Modern Capitalism in Global Development since 1945, especially since 2000. This chapter evaluates the role of capitalism in the progress of global development across four main areas: economy; politics; society; education and training, science and technology, environment, and other related fields.

       Chapter 4: Proposing Viewpoints and Policy Orientations for Vietnam. This chapter addresses the main factors influencing the development trends of capitalism up to 2030, forecasts its development trends until 2045, and discusses its role and impact on global development. It proposes viewpoints and policy orientations for Vietnam in understanding modern capitalism and its role in global development, especially since 2000, and in leveraging positive impacts while minimizing negative ones from the development of capitalism on Vietnam's development up to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

       The book is a useful reference material, serving in-depth research on modern capitalism and related issues. It contributes scientific basis and arguments for the continued supplementation and development of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh’s thought, the Đổi Mới (Renewal) guidelines, and the realization of strategic goals and national aspirations in the spirit of the 13th National Congress of the Party.
