The World Situation (or global landscape) is a comprehensive picture of the world and regional areas, typically reflecting the multifaceted state of the world over a certain period, demonstrating the balance of power and relationships among international relations actors. The main content of the World Situation involves the influential actors in international relations and how these actors impact the rest of the world. The actors are states, but they can also be non-state actors. The concepts associated with these actors include "power" and "influence," which in turn create the "poles" and "centers of power" that affect the global landscape.
To provide readers with research and reference material on the global landscape and its evolution in the coming decades, author Nguyen Minh Vu served as the editor-in-chief for the book "The World Situation until 2045." The book is divided into 4 chapters focusing on analyzing theoretical issues related to the contemporary global landscape; providing an overview of the global landscape during the 1986–2025 period, identifying and forecasting the global landscape for the 2025–2045 period, and analyzing the impact on Vietnam across various sectors.
