The Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam received a delegation of experts from the Australian Office of Hydrology and Geosciences

On the morning of May 23, 2024, Dr. Nguyen Hung Son, Vice President of the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam (DAV), held a meeting with a delegation of experts from the Australian Office of Hydrography and Geoscience within the framework of their working visit to Vietnam.

The Australian delegation had the participation of Commander Richard Mortimer - Assistant Director of Maritime Domain, Australian Geospatial Intelligence, Mr. Robert Cario - Assistant Director of the International Chart Development Program, Australian Hydrographic Office; Mr. Matt Ellis - Senior Geospatial Advisor, Australian Geoscience, Ms. Eleanor Kennon - First Secretary of the Australian Embassy in Hanoi and Mr. Tran Quoc Anh, political officer of the Australian Embassy in Hanoi.

At the exchange, Australian experts shared about Australia's geoscience research experience in performing maritime awareness functions, and wished to learn about Vietnam's concerns and orientations for development, maritime capabilities and possibilities for cooperation between the two countries. Vietnamese experts highly appreciated Australia's role in promoting peace, stability and law-based order at sea, expressing interest in Australia's initiatives in supporting the capacity of countries in Southeast Asia, especially in the field of security and development in maritime space.

Exchanges took place in a frank and open atmosphere, helping to enhance mutual understanding in areas of common interest./.
