

On 14 January 2025, the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) convened the 2024 Conference of Officials and Employees.
The event was attended by Dr. Nguyen Hung Son, Party Committee Secretary and Acting President of the Academy; Dr. Pham Lan Dung, Vice Chair of the Academy Council; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thin, Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Vice President; and Ms. Do Tu Hien, Chair of the Academy’s Trade Union. From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Trade Union, Ms. Do Ngoc Thuy, Chair of the Ministry’s Trade Union, was also present. The Conference Secretariat consisted of Ms. Hoang Thi Lan, Deputy Director of the Center for Policy under the East Sea Institute, and Ms. Trinh Bich Hanh, specialist of the Personnel and Organization Department, together with officials and employees of the Academy.
Opening the Conference, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thin delivered the 2024 Annual Report and outlined the Academy’s orientations for 2025. In 2024, the Academy successfully fulfilled its assigned tasks, continuously innovating and strengthening its efforts in training, capacity building, research, external relations, scientific management, and institutional development. Looking ahead to 2025, the Academy will continue implementing its key tasks and set forth specific objectives for these areas, particularly those related to activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnamese diplomatic service (28 August 1945 - 28 August 2025), as entrusted by the Ministry.

Representing the Executive Committee of the Trade Union, Ms. Do Tu Hien, Chair of the Academy’s Trade Union, presented the 2024 Report on Trade Union Activities and the orientations for 2025. Over the past year, the implementation of trade union initiatives benefited greatly from the close attention, guidance, and direction of the Party Committee and the Academy’s Leadership. Several activities organized successfully in 2024, such as the Diplomatic Academy Family Day; the exchange program “Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam - Proud to Rise” in Ha Long marking the Academy’s 65th anniversary (1959 - 2024); and the “DAV Summer Camp 2024” for the children of officials and employees, contributed significantly to supporting staff, enhancing welfare, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the Academy’s personnel.

Also delivering remarks at the Conference were Ms. Do Ngoc Thuy, Chair of the Trade Union of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Duong Thanh Binh, Deputy Chief of the Academy’s Office; Ms. Hoang Hai Hoa, Chief Accountant of the Academy; and Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Han, Head of the People’s Inspection Board.



In his directive remarks at the Conference, Dr. Nguyen Hung Son, Acting President of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, commended the Academy’s achievements and highly appreciated its timely research and forecasting efforts amid the current context of integration and development. He emphasized several key tasks and challenges that the Academy must address, including training and capacity building, admissions, scientific management, institutional development, and especially the preservation of diplomatic history and traditions, as well as major responsibilities assigned by the Ministry for 2025 in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Vietnamese diplomatic service (28 August 1945 - 28 August 2025). The Acting President expressed his confidence that, with unity and collective commitment, the Academy will overcome difficulties and challenges and achieve new, breakthrough successes.

On this occasion, the Conference also commended and honored collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the Academy’s research, teaching, and advisory work.





The Conference unanimously adopted the key reports and set forth the major tasks for 2025, including enhancing the quality of research, policy advisory work, and Track II diplomacy; implementing accreditation and standardizing training programs in line with international benchmarks; expanding international cooperation; strengthening admissions; and promoting educational innovation. In addition, the Academy will continue advancing digital transformation, applying new technologies, upgrading facilities, and refining its KPI-based performance evaluation system. Trade union activities will focus on staff welfare, revitalizing movements, and promoting cost-saving practices, while the People’s Inspection Board will prioritize strengthening oversight capacity and anti-corruption efforts. The Conference also tasked all units with finalizing their action plans and ensuring effective implementation, while calling on all officials and employees to thoroughly uphold the Resolution and contribute to the Academy’s sustainable development.
The Conference concluded successfully. Entering 2025, the staff and personnel of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam are determined to fulfill all assigned tasks and strive for new, breakthrough achievements.
