The Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam sets the top priority in developing and fostering a contingent of staff and lecturers. At the Academy, lecturers are always facilitated to participate in short and long-term training courses and exchange teaching and research experience at prestigious universities around the world. The Academy focuses periodically on making program adjustments and training modalities as close to cutting-edge training programs as being implemented at prestigious regional and international universities such as Victoria Wellington University (New Zealand), Flinders University (Australia), Washington Law University (USA)... Besides providing in-depth and up-to-date expertise in the fields of International Relations, International Economics, International Communication, International Law, etc., the Academy promotes the training of essential skills, thereby helping students in their future careers, including: crisis solving skills, negotiation skills, skills, translation and translation skills, etc. The training program of the Academy ensures that students can use at least one of three foreign languages (English, French or Chinese) after graduation. Although students are required to achieve upon graduation from the Academy with a score of 5.5-band for the IELTS (English) or B2 (French) certificate, most of the students exceeded this criterion with about 52, 04% of students obtained 7-band IELTS certificates and 25.34% obtained above 7.5-band IELTS certificates.
Extracurricular activities with a variety of topics, associated with specialized knowledge are also opportunities for the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam students. Not only striving at their “home field”, students of the Academy are also encouraged to participate in regional and international competitions and events that annually occur such as: The Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot (FDI Moot), International Humanitarian Law Presumptive Trial, British Parliamentary Law International Competition (VBC), Hitachi Young Leadership Initiative (HYLI) program, The Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Programs, the future diplomat training program in Beijing (2019) ... "Diplomacy" also comes from the fact that the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam’s students seem to possess a “privilege” of regularly participating in exchanges and dialogues with high-ranking and famous politicians such as: former Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan, Ambassador Ton Nu Thi Ninh, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, former U.S. President Barack Obama, former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, U.S. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper and many high-profile delegations to Vietnam. Meetings, exchanges and presentations on international relations topics help the Academy’s students learn more knowledge, skills and practice what they have learned in practice.

In recent years, when Vietnam has been chosen as the host of numerous important international events, the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam’s students have always been believed in to play many different roles in organizing important forums such as: Asia - Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2017, the 26th Asia - Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF), World Economic Forum (WEF) 2018, United Nations Days of Vesak (VESAK) 2019. With standard style, strong political bravery, Diplomacy students confidently fulfill their responsibilities, leaving a good impression in the eyes of delegates from all over the world.

The Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam’s students are also honored to be selected to present flowers to heads of state during their visits to Vietnam such as U.S. President Donald Trump, Chinese President Xi Jinping, President of the DPRK Kim Jong Un; to be a representative student in the dialogue with billionaire Jack Ma, bringing beautiful images of students of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam in particular and Vietnamese students in general reaching out to the world.

Another special point that makes up the students of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam is that the Academy requires community service training from the moment students start enrolling. That is also a required condition before honorably receiving the academy’s bachelor's degree.
