

Ha Noi, 16/7/2012 - At the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV), a talk was held between the delegation of six scholars from the Council on Foreign Relations (CRF) and the Asan Institution of Policy Studies (AIPS). The talk was chaired by Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Director of the Institute for Foreign Policy and Strategic Studies (IFPSS) with the participation of some of the IFPSS officers. The talk took place in an atmosphere of openness, fairness and cooperation.
The field trip to Vietnam by American and Korean scholars was in the series of academic dialogue with some Asian countries to explore the perceptions of regional security architecture and foreign policies of Vietnam.

Later that day, also at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, the delegation had a talk with Mr. Nguyen Tam Chien, former Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, former Ambassador of Vietnam in the United States, Adviser for the Institute for Foreign Policy and Strategic Studies on The U.S - Vietnam economic issues, negotiating Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement (TPP), and the U.S rebalancing policies in the region.
