On August 23, 2025, the Northern Regional Semifinal of the National Korean Speaking Contest – Ambassador’s Cup 2025 took place vibrantly at the Korean International School in Hanoi. This year’s competition brought together 36 outstanding contestants across three categories —Korean majors, non-majors, and high school students—creating an exciting and academically stimulating environment.

Representing the Diplomatic Academy, Ma Thi Thu Huong, a student of Class 49 - majoring in Korean Studies (Asia-Pacific Studies), Faculty of International Politics and Diplomacy, delivered an impressive presentation on the topic “베트남 문화의 매력” (The Appeal of Vietnamese Culture). With a natural storytelling style, well-structured arguments, and precise language skills, Thu Huong vividly showcased the richness of Vietnamese culture—from daily life and artistic traditions to the unique identity and values that Vietnam continues to contribute to the international community.
Her confident stage presence, dynamic interaction, and heartfelt expression of national pride won over the judging panel, earning her First Prize in the Korean-major category. This is the highest award in the Northern regional round and marks an outstanding achievement for DAV students in Korean Studies and international cultural exchange.

Thu Huong’s accomplishment not only recognises her personal dedication but also reflects the high-quality training, strong language foundation, and practical skill development offered by the Korean Studies program—one of DAV’s young but rapidly developing disciplines. The result further affirms the growing strengths of DAV students in national and international academic competitions.
In October, Thu Huong will proudly represent DAV at the National Final Round in Ho Chi Minh City, where the top contestants from all three regions will compete. This marks the next step in her journey to showcase the talent and confidence of DAV students in a highly competitive environment.

The event attracted attention from national media outlets, with VTV4 airing a feature report covering the highlights of the competition and Thu Huong’s performance.
