Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot - National Round 2020 (FDI MOOT 2020)

15:30 15/07/2020

The Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot (FDI Moot) was founded in 2006 with the coordination of Center for International Legal Studies - CILS (Austria), King's College (UK), Pepperdine University (USA), Suffolk University (USA) and German Arbitration Institute (DIS).

FDI Moot in particular and law arbitration in general is an annual and “traditional” activity for law students everywhere. Here the students experience the role of lawyers in litigation before the “putative” arbitration council.

Following the success of the previous years, and wanting to create a useful playground for students, the Diplomatic Academy (DAV) and the Vietnam International Law Association (VSIL) co-organized the FDI Moot from July 17th to July 24th, 2020. The teams will go through the preliminaries and the knock-out round online. Each team will go through two turns as Prosecutors and Respondents. In each turn, the team members will present their arguments and answer questions posed by the arbitration council to find the two best representatives to enter the finale, which will be held live at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam. The two winning teams will represent Vietnam to participate in the international round in Seoul, Korea on November 6th, 2020.

FDI Moot 2020 promises to be an attractive and dramatic arena with the participation of 22 teams from 15 law training institutions in Vietnam, along with more than 90 judges who are leading domestic and foreign experts.

#FDI_Moot_2020 is held with dedication, enthusiasm and professionalism, hoping to become a playground to help contestants achieve memorable achievements!
