On the morning of April 30, 2025, at the sacred moment marking the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the delegation’s voyage to the Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago and the DK1 platforms officially commenced. This annual activity carries profound political and social significance, nurturing patriotism and reaffirming the nation’s steadfast resolve to safeguard its sacred maritime sovereignty.

Among the delegates, Nguyen Quynh Anh, a student of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (Class of 48, International Relations major), was honored to be selected as one of the outstanding young representatives. For Quynh Anh, the journey was not only a memorable milestone filled with invaluable first-hand experiences, but also an opportunity to ignite pride and a sense of responsibility among Vietnamese youth toward the homeland’s seas and islands.

Throughout the voyage, the delegation took part in meaningful activities: offering incense and paying tribute to fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for national maritime sovereignty; visiting, presenting gifts and conveying encouragement to officers, soldiers, and residents stationed on the islands and platforms; participating in cultural exchanges, discussions, and interactions with frontline forces. Through these engagements, Quynh Anh gained deeper insight into the daily life, resilience, and unwavering spirit of the soldiers in Truong Sa. Despite the many challenges and harsh living conditions, they remain resolute, committed to fulfilling their duties and determined to safeguard every inch of the nation’s sacred seas and islands.

Particularly, the sight of the national flag-the red flag with a golden star-flying proudly over the islands and platforms left a profound impression on Quynh Anh. It stood as a powerful reminder to the younger generation of their responsibility to carry forward the mission of nation-building and national defense

As the journey to Truong Sa and the DK1 platforms concluded, the sense of dedication, responsibility, and aspiration to contribute to the nation remained-like a flame inspiring young Vietnamese to continue learning, engaging, and serving the country. As Quynh Anh noted: “The actions of today’s youth are how we safeguard our pride and the future of our nation.”
