On the morning of October 14th, 2019, at Hall A, the English Faculty of Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) held the workshop "Future employment trends" with the participation of nearly 300 students of Class 43. In a friendly, enthusiastic and sincere manner, former Deputy Director General and former Vice President of Citibank Pham Tuan Tu and Deputy Dean of the English Faculty Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Lien presented to the students the in-depth insights into future job trends as well as lessons on personal values.
At the workshop, Pham Tuan Tu shared his experiences about his previous jobs and positions, from which he gained a lot of practical experiences on how to create his own personal values. He emphasized that from now on, students should create their own value and never stop improving it by constantly learning and gaining experience. Students should never hesitate to do the smallest, simplest jobs and instead of hiding their skills, be willing to share and help others more. You give away very simple, ordinary things, but what you get in return is worth a thousand times more.
In addition, Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Lien, Deputy Dean of the English Faculty also shared with students the story of lifelong learning and how to not only catch up with the rapid scientific and technological development, but also be flexible to meet the demands of the times.
The workshop was also an opportunity for students to meet, exchange and share with the speakers their concerns about issues relating jobs, employment, knowledge gaining and opportunities seizing in the Technology 4.0 era.
Thanks to the workshop, K43 students had a more profound perspective on future jobs and consequently paid more efforts in studying, researching and actively improving themselves. The students also expressed their desire to participate in many interesting workshops like this in the future.
