MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS HOLDS EVENT "DIPLOMATIC PATH - MOFA OPEN DAY 2020"

     This is the first time the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has organized a promotional event which is official, independent and professionally-oriented with the aim of creating a forum for sharing and answers between attendees and a number of outstanding young diplomat representatives to introduce the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, job opportunities, “career stories”, and some information related to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ recruitment exam. 

     In the event “Diplomatic Path - MOFA Open Day 2020”, participants included representatives of all units under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, overseas representative missions of Vietnam, and nearly 400 potential students and young people.

     At the opening session of the event, speakers had open and substantive sharing related to the work and development path at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Young attendees had an opportunity to learn about the characteristics of the position at the ministry, along with the qualities and skills required of a diplomat.

     The guest speakers were all young diplomats, discussing topics close to young people’s interests and passions such as: Reasons to choose diplomacy, advantages, difficulties, and real experiences when participating in the country’s important and major international events…

     During the second session entitled: "Four-dimensioned diplomacy, I chose Diplomacy, and you?", students and young people had the opportunity to understand more about how young diplomats in the country and abroad tied the knot with their current work. According to the speakers, all positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would bring valuable opportunities and experiences to develop their capabilities in a comprehensive way, as well as in contributing to the foreign work of the country.

     At the last session with the topic: "How to become a diplomat?", candidates had the opportunity to ask questions directly and receive practical and open sharing from speakers about the regulations, submission, preparation and information related to the 2020 public servant recruitment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

     Especially, this is also the first time that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam has organized an event in an open form on the basis of promoting the applicability in the digital age with nearly 20,000 spectators watching online, contributing to improving maximizing the quality of human resources to enter the Foreign Service.

     The event took place successfully in an energetic, substantive and open atmosphere. Potential candidates had the opportunity to learn more about the specifics of the service, along with career opportunities when applying to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam. It is hoped that in the upcoming recruitment period, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will attract high-quality human resources to add to the service machinery, continue and promote the glorious achievements of the Vietnamese Diplomatic Service.
