

On April 21st, 2019, at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, the postgraduate Dao Nguyet Hang successfully defended the Academy-level doctoral thesis specialized in International Relations, code 9.31.02.06 with the topic "Korea's economic diplomacy towards Vietnam from 1992 up to now”, under the scientific guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Quang and Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thai Yen Huong.

The Council highly appreciated the contributions of the thesis. The thesis was the first systematic research work from the perspective of Vietnamese researchers on Korea's economic diplomacy policies towards Vietnam since the two countries established diplomacy relations from 1992 to 2018. The thesis basically clarified the main content in Korea's economic diplomacy towards Vietnam through the stages. At the same time, the thesis gave a number of forecasts on the trends of Korea's economic diplomacy policies, forecasted a number of relationship scenarios that affect Korea's economic diplomacy towards Vietnam up to the year 2025, and gave recommendations for Vietnam to further promote economic cooperation with South Korea, one of the most important economic partners of Vietnam. The thesis was a reference for researchers and readers interested in Korea's economic diplomacy policy towards Vietnam in particular and Vietnam-Korea relations since 1992 in general.

The defence ceremony takes place in a serious atmosphere and in accordance with the regulations of the doctoral training. The postgraduate presented the main research results of the thesis and answered the questions from the Council. The Council concluded that postgraduate Dao Thi Nguyet Hang deserved the Doctor degree in International Relations with 7/7 passed votes, of which 4/7 excellent votes.
