Preliminary site visit assessing quality of education at Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam

On December 16th 2019 afternoon, the External Assessment Team from the Center for Education Accreditation - Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-CEA) carried out a preliminary site visit at Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) to assess its education quality in preparation for the Actual Site Visit following the higher education institution quality assessment procedures of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Delegation attending the preliminary site visit on the side of VNU-CEA was standing Vice Director of VNU-CEA Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien. On the side of the External Assessment Team were Team Leader Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Duc; Deputy Team Leader Dr. Nguyen Thi My Loc; Secretary of the Assessment Team Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong; Supervisor M.A Bui Thi Thu Thuy. On the side of Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam were DAV President, Chairman of the Council Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Tung; DAV Vice President, Vice Chairman of the Council Dr. Pham Lan Dung; DAV Self-assessment Council; Head, Deputy Head of the Academy's units, Secretariat and specialized groups.

In the Preliminary Site Visit, the External Assessment Team worked with leaders of the DAV, Self-assessment Council, Head and Deputy Head of the Academy's units, Secretariat and specialized groups on main issues such as: 

The External Assessment Team presented the desktop assessment results and findings based on the self-assessment report of Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam; agreed on the official schedule and facilities requirements for the Actual Site Visit;

Agreeing on elements that the DAV needs to prepare: Additional documents, the number and groups of those participating in interviews;

Agreeing on working principles;

Visiting some places in DAV to prepare for the Actual Site Visit such as the office of the Assessment Team, interview room, the hall for the Opening ceremony of the Actual Site Visit, etc.

Diplomatic Academy has identified the assessment of the quality of education as a key task to improve the quality of education and scientific research for community activities. The site visit was conducted in a professional atmosphere and the parties carried out a frank and open exchange.

In the end, DAV President Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Tung, Standing Vice Director of VNU-CEA Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien and Assessment Team Leader Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Duc and Director of Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam signed the record of the preliminary site visit.

With thorough preparation, urgent and serious working spirit, the preliminary site visit is the basis for the upcoming Actual Site Visit in January 2020.
