Student exchange and Korean culture experience program organized by the Korea Peace Foundation and The Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam

From July 15 to July 19, 2024, a delegation of 6 staff and 15 selected students from the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam paid a visit to South Korea to participate in a student exchange and cultural experience program. This activity is a continuation of the success of the "Korea-Vietnam Future Dialogue" program jointly organized by the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and the Korea Peace Foundation, in Hanoi in February 2024.

The delegation visited the Center for Unified Future of Korea in Gyeonggi Province to meet and interact with 20 students from prestigious Korean universities and participate in the "Korea-Vietnam Future Dialogue" discussing topics related to economic cooperation, culture, and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. The students engaged in lively discussions, initiated many insightful contributions to the development of bilateral relations that benefit both nations.

During the trip, the staff and students of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam had the opportunity to learn about and expose to Korean culture and economy through their visits to places such as the Odusan Unification Tower, the National Museum of Korea, the JTBC broadcasting studio, the Samsung Innovation Museum, and famous historical sites like city gates, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and traditional villages in Seoul and its surroundings. The Vietnamese students were accompanied by Korean students, creating a friendly exchange atmosphere between the young generations of both countries.

The delegation was particularly honored to be welcomed by Mr. Hong Seok Hyun, Chairman of the JoongAng Group, one of Korea's largest media conglomerates and the founder of the Korea Peace Foundation. Mr. Hong Seok Hyun showed his great interest in the staff and students of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, sharing many ideas and life experiences with the young participants. He expressed his delight at the remarkable progress in Vietnam-Korea relations, pinning his hopes on even closer ties between the two nations in the future.

Additionally, the students from the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Seoul to experience the working environment of Vietnam's missions overseas.

The student exchange program and Korean cultural experience concluded successfully, providing invaluable knowledge and vivid experiences for DAV’s students, contributing to the enhancement of the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Korea in general, and between the young generations of the two countries in particular.

The program also opens up new cooperation opportunities between the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and the Korea Peace Foundation, laying the groundwork for future cultural exchange programs for students of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.
