Russia - Ukraine Conflict: Nature, Causes and Prospects
On February 24th 2022, TASS, Russia’s News agency reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin had announced that Russia initiated a “special military operation” in eastern Ukraine in response to the request of ensuring security of the two leaders of self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR).
In the context of rising tensions between Russia, the US and NATO members, many questions are of great public interest, namely “what is the nature of the conflict?”, “why does it happen at this time?”, “what will be its direction?”.
