Student Exchange Program - Studying and Experiencing at Sungshin University, Korea

Public Diplomacy Pioneership Program

In early spring 2024 (from January 2 to January 12, 2024), the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) and Sungshin Women’s University, Korea co-organized the program: "Public Diplomacy Pioneership Program" for their students. The students joining the program had vivid and unforgettable experiences in Hanoi and Seoul.

In Seoul, Korea, DAV’s students immersed themselves in the Korean culture, exposed to tea-ceremony, K-Makeup workshops, worn the traditional Hanbok of Korea as well as participated in interesting classes on Public Diplomacy, presented by Professors of Sungshin University. Under the Program, DAV’s and Sungshin University’s students paid visits to various popular places in Seoul, particularly Global Knowledge Exchange and Development Center (GKEDC) and Gyeongbokgung Palace – the historic and cultural symbol of the Republic of Korea. For DAV’s students, the program brought about opportunity to meet, study and live together with their Korean and Thai peers, creating the cordial bond between them and outstanding people, thus, broadening their knowledge on the culture, history and language of the Republic of Korea as well as introducing Vietnamese culture to international friends.

In Hanoi, Vietnam, Sungshin University's and DAV’s students together participated in roundtable talks by Ambassadors and Professors of the Diplomatic Academy focusing on Vietnamese culture, Vietnam's foreign policy as well as current Vietnam - Korea relations and future prospects. The students had practical experiences in 36 ancient streets of Hanoi, visiting typical cultural and historical relics of the capital such as the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long... Besides, they paid a memorable visit to Ha Long Bay - a natural wonder of the world was recognized twice by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage site in 1994 and 2000.

The student exchange program between the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and Sungshin University: "Public Diplomacy Pioneership Program" not only equips students of the two sides with knowledge of the culture and history of the two countries, but also contributes to strengthening the good friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Korea in general and between the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and Sungshin University in particular. This program will open up more opportunities for cooperation in the field of training between the two institutes in the near future.
