The 10th Seminar in the Seminar Series on China

On November 7th 2018, the Institute for Foreign Policy and Strategic Studies - Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam in collaboration with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Foundation (KAS), held a 10th seminar called China Talk on the subject: “The domestic context and China’s Foreign Policy after the 19th party Congress”. The invited speaker was Professor Jaeho Hwang from Hankuk University, Korea.

Overview of the Seminar

The Seminar discussed major issues that China is facing, which are: (i) China’s national interest’s defending policy; (ii) the diplomatic principle not to take bitter fruit of the CPC presented by Xi Jin Ping at the 19th Congress; (iii) ending of China’s prosperous period, China is now encountering challenging issues like the U.S-China competitive influence or the U.S alteration under the Trump Administration and (iv) the Korea-China relations.

The Seminar attracted more than 50 delegates including the representatives of different embassies in Hanoi, the Foreign Ministry’s bodies and related ministry/departments as well as the Chinese scholars. In the discussing session, the delegates had openly discussed the situation in China as well as its recent policies.
