The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam visits the DAV and lectures for Students of Korean Studies, Faculty of International Politics and Diplomacy.

On the afternoon of October 31, 2024, as part of his visit to the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV), H.E. Ambassador Choi Young Sam, the Republic of Korea’s Ambassador to Vietnam, delivered a special lecture on "Contemporary Korea-Vietnam Relations and the Role of future generations," organized by the Academy in collaboration with the Korean Embassy in Vietnam.

The event was attended by Dr. Pham Lan Dung, Acting President of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam; representatives from various departments, and faculty members. Representing Korea were the Second Secretary of the Korean Embassy Kim Ji Soo and Woo Hyoung Min, Head of the Korea Foundation in Vietnam.

In an open and candid atmosphere, Ambassador Choi Young Sam shared valuable insights into Vietnam-Korea relations and the role of future generations. Notably, he delivered the lecture entirely in Vietnamese, an unprecedented gesture that contributed to a warm, close connection with the Academy’s faculty and students.

Students attending the event had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam-Korea relations from Ambassador Choi Young Sam’s perspective. He highlighted the importance of Vietnam to Korea and re-affirmed the close bond between the two nations, established since diplomatic relations began in 1992.

The Ambassador emphasized that the Korea-Vietnam relationship will continue to strengthen due to geographical proximity, cultural similarities, and complementary resources between the two countries. He acknowledged new strides in realizing Vietnam's vision for the future, focusing on high-tech development, green transition, and the growth of the cultural industry. Ambassador Choi expressed optimism about the people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, encouraging Diplomatic Academy students and Vietnamese students in general to serve as solid bridges for Vietnam-Korea relations in the future.

The lively event featured practical questions from students regarding Vietnam-Korea relations, met with enthusiastic and insightful responses from Ambassador Choi Young Sam.

At the event’s close, Dr. Pham Lan Dung, Acting President of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, sincerely thanked Ambassador Choi Young Sam for his visit and contributions.
