Updated Course on India's Foreign Policy
During May 11th -12th, 2021, the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) and India’s Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS), supported by the Embassy of India to Vietnam, organized an updated course on India's Foreign Policy. This is the first activity carried out within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed between the DAV and the SSIFS.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ambassador J.S. Mukul, SSIFS Director, Ambassador Hoang Anh Tuan, DAV Deputy Director and 50 other participants who are Vietnamese civil servants, officials, researchers, lecturers, students, and Vietnamese diplomats working in India.
The course was held online. Senior Indian diplomats, such as Ambassador Mukul, Ambassador Pranay Verma, Ambassador Preeti Saran, Ambassador Sujan R. Chinoy shared and updated information on four topics including: India’s Foreign Policy; India’s relations with Vietnam and ASEAN; India’s relations with neighboring countries; India's Act East Policy and the growing importance of the Indo-Pacific.
In the context of the re-emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic in India and Vietnam, though the course took place online, the course was successful, helping Vietnamese students to keep up to date with information about India's foreign policy, India's relations with its regional neighbours.
