Workshop on Course Dissemination “Multilateral Diplomacy”

Hanoi - On October 2nd, 2020, a workshop themed “Course dissemination: Multilateral diplomacy” was organized by the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam in collaboration with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Foundation (KAS). There was the attendance of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with practical experience in the field of multilateral diplomacy, professors, researchers in related fields from 17 universities and research institutes in the country. The workshop aimed at providing practical information on Vietnam's multilateral foreign affairs, sharing experiences in teaching and studying this new course.

     Multilateral diplomacy is increasingly becoming a prominent tendency in today’s international relations, and it plays an important role in the world’s political - economic - foreign affairs. Over the past years, Vietnam's multilateral diplomacy has been expanded and deepened in all diplomatic channels of the Party, the State and people's diplomacy, thus creating a synergy, making a great contribution to building and defending the country, contributing to consolidating and raising the position and reputation of Vietnam in the international arena. In order to ensure the quality and effectiveness of foreign affairs in the new context,  an important and decisive factor is the task of developing and executing a training strategy, building a contingent of full-time officers with strong political stance, expertise and multilateral-diplomacy skills.

     In respect of that spirit, the Faculty of International Politics & Diplomatic Studies has successfully developed the course of Multilateral Diplomacy. This is the first course that has been included in a specialized training on International Relations in Vietnam. The teaching and widespread dissemination of the multilateral diplomacy course to universities that have international relations training in Vietnam is a practical job, thus providing necessary knowledge and skills to students for further contribution to Vietnam's multilateral foreign policy.
