On January 14, 2026, as part of the professional activity series of the DAV Ambassadors’ Journey 2025, Ambassador’s Talk #2 was successfully held under the theme “Analytical Thinking and Crisis Management Skills”.
Chaired by Ambassador Nguyen Thi Bich Hue, the session provided insightful and practice-oriented perspectives on risk management in modern diplomatic work. The talk was honored by the presence of Ambassador, Professor Dr. Nguyen Vu Tung, former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Viet Nam to the Republic of Korea and former Director of the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam; Mrs. Hoang Mai Huong, Head of Training Department; together with all course participants and a large number of DAV students.

From Ambassador Nguyen Thi Bich Hue’s perspective, a crisis serves as a true test of the composure, resilience, and adaptive capacity of those working in Foreign Affairs. Drawing from practical experience, the Ambassador emphasized that effective risk mitigation lies in the convergence of sharp analytical thinking, a calm and steady mindset, and the ability to make timely decisions under pressure.
Examining the context of the digital era, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Bich Hue highlighted the unique challenges posed by the rapid spread of information, where even minor incidents can quickly escalate into large-scale crises. In response to this reality, she encouraged students to shift from a passive approach to a proactive model of risk management. In particular, the capacity to detect early warning signs and to transform potential risks into opportunities was underscored as a critical factor in safeguarding the reputation of both individuals and institutions.

The Ambassador’s sharing was followed by a dynamic and engaging Q&A session, marked by candid academic exchange. Students openly raised pressing issues such as managing personal emotions under public pressure, handling media crises in a systematic manner, and responding with tact in sensitive diplomatic situations. Drawing on her extensive professional experience, the Ambassador addressed each question with clarity and practical insights, offering valuable lessons for the students.

Beyond its academic value, the talk offered strong practical relevance in shaping students’ career orientation. In an increasingly demanding labor market, risk management thinking and the ability to make decisions under high pressure have become key indicators of professional competence. Together, these competencies distinguish Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam students, enabling them to remain composed under pressure while approaching professional environments with confidence and readiness.

Ambassador’s Talk #2 concluded with lasting impressions and new perspectives for students of the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam. Ambassador Nguyen Thi Bich Hue’s thoughtful sharing extended beyond professional knowledge, supporting students in building resilience, confidence, and a strong sense of responsibility as global citizens.

As part of the DAV Ambassadors’ Journey 2025, upcoming activities will continue to offer meaningful spaces for dialogue, bringing students closer to experienced diplomats and helping them build a solid foundation for their future careers in Foreign Affairs.
