Before the official commencement of the ceremony, participants observed a minute of silence in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the recent floods in the Central Highlands, offering profound condolences to the bereaved families and expressing hopes that affected communities would soon overcome their difficulties and restore stability to their lives.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thin, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of the Academy, emphasized that in recent days, compatriots in Central Viet Nam and the Central Highlands have suffered severe losses due to prolonged flooding: many areas have been isolated, properties and crops have been swept away, and people’s livelihoods face immense challenges. She affirmed that this support-mobilization initiative is carried out in accordance with directives from both the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Party Committee of the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam, embodying the spirit of mutual care, compassion, and solidarity with compatriots in disaster-affected areas.
Responding to the Party Committee’s appeal, Party members, officials, faculty, and staff of the Academy contributed a total of VND 166,600,000. The entire amount will be transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Party Committee as part of its fundraising initiative to provide timely assistance to residents of Central Viet Nam and the Central Highlands who have been directly affected by the recent flooding.

Expressing sincere gratitude for the enthusiastic response from all Party members, officials, faculty, and staff of the Academy, the Deputy Party Secretary emphasized that promoting the long-standing tradition of “the intact leaf protects the torn leaf”, every contribution - large or small - represents a meaningful act of solidarity and a timely source of encouragement to help compatriots overcome hardships and rebuild their lives. She affirmed that the spirit of unity and social responsibility demonstrated by the Academy’s collective will continue to spread the positive humanitarian values of Viet Nam’s diplomatic service in general and of the Academy in particular./.
