DAV’s Acting President Welcomes the Ambassador of Colombia to Viet Nam

Dr. Nguyen Hung Son congratulated Ambassador Camila Florez on presenting her credentials to the President of Viet Nam, H.E. Luong Cuong, on March 17, 2025. He expressed his desire to strengthen cooperation between DAV and Colombian partners in time ahead. He also noted that DAV and “Augusto Ramirez Ocampo” Diplomatic Academy of Colombia have completed the exchange and negotiation process and reached an agreement on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions. DAV has finalized all internal procedures and is ready to sign the MoU at any mutually convenient time.

Expressing her delight at visiting DAV, Ambassador Camila Florez shared that an increasing number of female Colombian Ambassadors are being appointed to countries around the world, reflecting a positive trend in gender equality and the growing participation of women in foreign affairs. The Ambassador also expressed her admiration for Viet Nam’s development achievements, particularly its independent, self-reliant, peaceful, cooperative, and development-oriented foreign policy. She affirmed that Colombia has much to learn from Viet Nam’s experience, especially in building relations with neighboring countries and expanding international cooperation.

Both sides exchanged views on the potential for cooperation between DAV and Colombian educational and research institutions, emphasizing areas such as diplomatic training, academic exchanges, foreign policy research, and cultural exchanges.

The meeting took place in a friendly, open, and cooperative atmosphere, contributing to the promotion of ties between DAV and Colombian partners, as well as the bilateral relationship between the two countries in the coming time./.
