On August 4, the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) hosted DAV Family Day, an event organized by the Academy’s Trade Union in celebration of the Academy’s 65th Anniversary. The festival featured a diverse range of activities designed to strengthen connections among the families of officials, lecturers, and staff, contributing to a warm, cohesive, and united DAV community.

In attendance on behalf of the Academy’s leadership were Ambassador, Dr. Pham Lan Dung, Party Secretary, Vice Chair in charge of the Academy Council, and Acting Director of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam; Dr. Nguyen Hung Son, Deputy Party Secretary and Deputy Director of the Academy; and Dr. Nguyen Thi Thin, Deputy Director of the Academy. Representing the Trade Union of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were Ms. Do Ngoc Thuy, Chairwoman of the Ministry’s Trade Union; and Ms. Phan Hoa, Member of the Executive Committee of the Ministry’s Trade Union and Head of the Ministry’s Zumba and Yoga Club. The event received enthusiastic participation from nearly 300 officials, lecturers, staff members, and their families.

Delivering the opening remarks, Ambassador, Dr. Pham Lan Dung stated: “DAV Family Day is a meaningful activity held in the lead-up to the Academy’s 65th Anniversary. This is a day for all members of the Academy, not only a gathering of colleagues but also a bridge connecting our families. On normal working days, we support one another, we share bonds and trust. Today, an opportunity that does not always come, we are able to draw even closer through our families. We introduce our loved ones to our workplace and colleagues, and we get to know the families of our colleagues. These connections create a warm and caring environment, fostering greater motivation to stay committed to our institution, our work, and our teammates. Above all, they make our everyday working life happier, more meaningful, and more fulfilling.”
The program commenced with a cycling activity aimed at promoting physical exercise and well-being among officials, staff, and their families. Nearly fifty cyclists gathered early at ASEAN Square, following a route around West Lake, passing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, before returning to the Academy to join the day’s subsequent activities.

At the Academy, various interactive and sports competitions also took place, including table tennis, chess, and badminton. Dedicated creative spaces, such as photo-frame making and statue painting workshops, were arranged for younger participants.

The program continued with vibrant outdoor activities, where six teams representing different units of the Academy competed enthusiastically. Through a series of team-based games including ball passing, block stacking, and tug-of-war, the teams delivered lively and spirited performances.

Following the outdoor activities, officials, lecturers, staff members, and families enjoyed magic performances and participated in a quiz featuring questions about the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam. The organizing committee then announced and presented awards to the competing teams and outstanding individuals across the various segments.

Awards were presented to the winning teams and individual performers.

DAV Family Day concluded in a joyful and energetic atmosphere, leaving participants with memorable moments. The event served as a meaningful occasion to strengthen camaraderie and reinforce the bonds among officials, lecturers, staff, and their families, as the Academy approaches the celebration of its 65th Anniversary.
