Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam welcomed the delegation Tsinghua University (China)

On the afternoon of January 29, 2024, the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) welcomed the Delegation of Tsinghua University (China) on a working visit to Vietnam. The purpose of Tsinghua University's visit is to increase exchanges, promote cooperation in education and training, academic exchange, and share experiences in developing universities.

On the side of the DAV, H.E., Dr. Pham Lan Dung - DAV Acting President chaired the meeting between the two universities. Also attending were Dr. Nguyen Hung Son – DAV Vice President, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thin - DAV Vice President, and representatives of the Institute for Foreign Policy & Strategic Studies, the East Sea Institute, the Faculty of International Politics & Diplomacy, and the Faculty of Chinese.

On the side of Tsinghua University, Prof. Qiu Yong - Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the CPC Tsinghua University Committee, led the delegation to pay a visit to DAV. Delegation includes: Prof. Zhao Gang - Deputy Secretary of the CPC Tsinghua University Committee, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commision of the CPC Tsinghua University Committee; Prof. Zheng Peng - Deputy Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commision of the CPC Tsinghua University Committee, Chief Inspector of Tsinghua University; Prof. Zhao Kejin - Deputy Director-General of the Institute of Social Sciences of Tsinghua University. The meeting also had the partipation of officers in charge of international cooperation and training exchange at Tsinghua University.

Tsinghua University (China) was established in 1911 and is known as one of the leading multi-disciplinary and prestigious public universities in China. In 2024, Tsinghua University is among the top 25 universities in the world (QS World University Rankings 2024). Currently, Tsinghua University has a total of 21 institutes, 59 faculties, with open, comprehensive, research-oriented majors including: Philosophy, politics, international relations, economics, science-technology, law, history, medicine, educational management...

Prof. Qiu Yong shared that Tsinghua University is one of the cradles of training high-ranking Chinese leaders, especially General Secretary and President Xi Jinping. After the successful visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, Tsinghua University came to Vietnam to seek and promote cooperation in developing education, training and research between the two side, including cooperation with Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam. Prof. Qiu Yong also emphasized that China and Vietnam are good friends, partners and comrades. Tsinghua University's visit to Vietnam and the DAV this time hopes to contribute to promoting the stronger and closer relationship between the two countries.

At the meeting, leaders of the two universities focused on discussing opportunities for cooperation, academic and educational exchange and proposed the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and Tsinghua University in the near future.
