During the opening session of the on-site visit, Dr. NGUYEN Hung Son, President of the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam (DAV), emphasised that accreditation under the FIBAA standards is not viewed merely as an external quality assurance exercise, but rather as a strategic opportunity for critical self-evaluation and continuous enhancement of academic programmes. He underlined the DAV’s strong commitment to internationalisation, academic quality, and the improvement of graduate employability in an increasingly competitive global higher education context.

During the two-day visit, the international FIBAA expert panel carried out an intensive on-site evaluation of five undergraduate programmes: International Relations, International Economics, International Business, International Law, and International Trade and Business Law.

Over a tightly scheduled and demanding programme of activities, the expert panel conducted campus tours, observed academic and student support facilities, and held a series of in-depth interviews with a wide range of stakeholders. These included the DAV’s Board of Directors, faculty leadership, programme managers, academic staff, administrative and student support units, students, alumni, and representatives of employers relevant to the evaluated programmes.

The discussions focused on the alignment between programme objectives, intended learning outcomes, and curriculum design; teaching and assessment practices; and the linkage between education, research, and professional practice. Particular attention was also paid to international mobility of students and teaching staff, opportunities for outbound and inbound exchange, as well as student support services, including academic advising, career guidance, learning support, and mechanisms to ensure student wellbeing and academic progression.

Detailed findings, including identified strengths and recommendations for further enhancement, will be presented in the External Evaluation Report in accordance with FIBAA procedures.
