Opening the program, Dr. Phan Dang Chuong provided an overview of the modern business environment, where breakthroughs are shaped by three core drivers: Technology, Demographics, and Globalization. He stressed that in the digital era, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation not only accelerate growth but also introduce complex risks, requiring businesses to innovate continuously.
Drawing on more than 30 years of hands-on experience, the speaker highlighted the transformative shift in risk management approaches. Instead of focusing solely on downside risks, modern enterprises must prioritize optimizing and capturing opportunities arising from upside risks. This mindset is crucial in the digital age, where technology presents both challenges and unparalleled opportunities for competitive advantage.
Dr. Phan Dang Chuong also offered an in-depth analysis of ESG factors in risk management strategies. He emphasized that sustainable development is no longer optional but essential. Integrating standards related to Environment, Social Responsibility, and Transparent Governance into business models helps reduce legal and reputational risks while enhancing competitiveness and long-term investment appeal.
Through practical examples, the speaker underscored that effective risk management requires a strong risk culture that is integrated into operations and strategic planning. The ability to adapt and transform challenges into opportunities is the key to sustainable enterprise development.
The talk “Enterprise Risk Management - A Practical Perspective” concluded successfully, inspiring students with renewed motivation and innovative thinking. The Organizing Committee sincerely thanks Dr. Phan Dang Chuong for his insightful, dedicated, and inspiring sharing. We wish him good health and continued success in spreading knowledge and inspiration to future generations.
