Ambassador Dr. Pham Lan Dung meets with MP Serap Guler from the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), German Federal Parliament

On the morning of October 28, 2024, at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV), Ambassador Dr. Pham Lan Dung, Acting President of DAV, held discussions with Mrs. Serap Guler, Member of Parliament from the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), German Federal Parliament. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Florian Feyerabend, Resident Representative of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Vietnam, and Mr. Lewe Paul, KAS Policy Advisor for Asia-Pacific Region.

In a cordial and open atmosphere, both sides exchanged views on various regional issues of mutual interest, including regional hotspots, the current situation in Ukraine, as well as Germany's policy towards the Indo-Pacific region. Issues related to digital transformation and cybersecurity were also discussed.

MP Serap Guler clearly affirmed her respect for Vietnam's political system and agreed that despite certain differences, the key is that both sides share many common values and interests.

Ambassador Pham Lan Dung expressed high appreciation for Germany's role in the region and affirmed that Germany is a very important partner of Vietnam. Both sides also discussed several specific cooperation projects, including research on integrating artificial intelligence and emerging technologies into diplomatic work.

The meeting concluded with both sides expressing their desire to continue promoting cooperation between the Diplomatic Academy and German partners, contributing to the enhancement of the Vietnam-Germany Strategic Partnership in the coming time./.
