Within the framework of the competition “Students with Entrepreneurial Ideas in the Field of Education 2025” organized by the Faculty of English, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, Team BIFI BUDDY introduced BIFI BUDDY – an EdTech platform designed to support professional training in translation and interpreting through the integration of standardized learning materials and artificial intelligence (AI)–based learning support.

Project Concept and Objectives

BIFI BUDDY was developed in response to the growing demand for highly qualified translation and interpreting professionals, particularly in the fields of diplomacy and economics, while existing training options remain limited by high costs, fragmented learning resources, and a lack of effective practice-oriented tools.

The project aims to become a comprehensive learning companion for translation and interpreting students, enabling learners not only to acquire theoretical knowledge but also to develop professional reflexes, practical skills, and confidence in handling authentic translation and interpreting tasks.

Solution and Key Values

BIFI BUDDY positions itself as one of the first specialized digital platforms for translation and interpreting training in Vietnam, with a strong focus on diplomatic and economic discourse. The platform integrates several key features:

• A curated repository of authoritative materials, sourced from reputable international institutions such as the United Nations, IMF, World Bank, and ASEAN;
• AI-powered Translation Coaching, providing structured feedback and analysis of learners’ translations based on professional rubrics;
• Automatic sentence chunking technology, supporting effective interpreting practice tailored to learners’ proficiency levels;
• Interpreting simulation modules, replicating conference and real-world interpreting scenarios;
• A professional learning community, enabling learners to connect, practice, and exchange expertise with peers sharing similar academic and career goals.

Through these features, BIFI BUDDY bridges the gap between academic training and real-world professional requirements in the translation and interpreting industry.

Feasibility and Development Potential

The project follows a clear, phased development roadmap, beginning with MVP construction and market validation, progressing to a paid subscription model, and ultimately scaling the platform’s scope and functionality. Operating entirely as a digital platform allows BIFI BUDDY to optimize costs while leveraging AI to automate feedback and assessment processes.

Its revenue model includes individual subscription packages, B2B partnerships with universities and training institutions, as well as sponsorship and institutional collaborations, demonstrating strong financial sustainability and scalability.

Evaluation by the Judging Panel

With its specialized focus, clear professional orientation, and effective integration of academic knowledge, technology, and industry practice, BIFI BUDDY received positive evaluations from the Judging Panel for its practical applicability and development potential in translation and interpreting education.

As a result, Team BIFI BUDDY was awarded the Encouragement Prize, recognizing the project’s thoughtful design and promising contribution to professional language training.
