DAV Welcomes Director of the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies, Former Prime Minister of the Russian Federation

This was the first activity within the framework of the delegation's visit and working program in Viet Nam. The meeting was chaired by Ambassador Dr. Pham Lan Dung, Permanent Vice Chairperson of the Academy Council. Attending the meeting were representatives from the Institute for Foreign Policy and Strategic Studies, the East Sea Institute, the External Relations Division, and  researchers from DAV. On the Russian side, the meeting was joined by RISS officials and representatives from the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Hanoi.

In her welcome remarks, Ambassador Dr. Pham Lan Dung expressed her pleasure in receiving Dr. Fradkov and the RISS delegation at DAV. She emphasized that the Academy places great importance on enhancing cooperation in research and academic exchange with reputable strategic research institutions worldwide, including RISS – an institution that plays a key role in shaping Russia’s foreign policy.

For his part, Dr. Fradkov expressed his delight at returning to Viet Nam and highly appreciated DAV’s growing role and prestigein the field of diplomatic training and research. He affirmed that RISS stands ready to promote cooperation with DAV in multiple areas, especially in expert exchanges, academic research, and sharing of strategic insights.

Both sides engaged in open and constructive discussions on regional and international issues of mutual concern, as well as explored prospects for Viet Nam–Russia bilateral cooperation in the new context.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere of sincerity, mutual respect, and understanding. At the conclusion of the session, Ambassador Dr. Pham Lan Dung and Dr. Mikhail E. Fradkov exchanged commemorative gifts and agreed to maintain regular contact, further promote delegation exchanges, and strengthen research cooperation between DAV and RISS, thereby contributing to the continued deepening of the Viet Nam–Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership./.
