DAV's Acting President receives Lao Ambassador to Viet Nam, H.E. Khamphao Ernthavanh
On the morning of August 8, 2024, at the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam (DAV), Ambassador, Dr. Phạm Lan Dung, Acting President, welcomed H.E. Khamphao Ernthavanh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Viet Nam, on her courtesy visit marking the beginning of her term in Viet Nam.
The meeting was attended by officials from the Lao Embassy in Viet Nam, as well as representatives from various departments of the DAV, including the Department of Education and Training; the Foreign Services Training Center (FOSET), and the Institute for Foreign Policy and Strategic Studies (IFPSS).
Dr. Phạm Lan Dung welcomed Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh to the DAV, congratulated Laos on its efforts and achievements so far during its 2024 ASEAN Chairmanship, and wished the Ambassador a successful term in Viet Nam. She also expressed her desire for DAV and the Lao Embassy to continue developing diverse cooperative activities, particularly in receiving Lao students to study at the DAV, thereby contributing to the promotion of traditional and friendly relations between the two countries.
Expressing her gratitude for the warm reception at the DAV and her desire to maintain and further develop the good cooperative relationship between the Lao Embassy and the DAV, Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh expressed her hope that more Lao students would have the opportunity to study at the DAV.
The two sides also discussed the challenges faced by Lao students during their studies in Viet Nam in general, and at DAV in particular, and explored ways to overcome these difficulties. They also discussed opportunities for cooperation in diplomatic training as well as in strategic research./.
