On the morning of 31 March 2025, students of the Faculty of International Economics, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, participated in an extracurricular activity at the AEON Hà Đông General Merchandise Store & Supermarket. The activity was organized by the Faculty of International Economics to equip students with business knowledge, practical insights, and a deeper understanding of the retail industry in the context of economic integration.

The event welcomed:

- From the Academy: Mr. Nguyễn Tuấn Hiệp – Head of the Office of Political and Student Affairs, Undergraduate and Postgraduate Training Department; Dr. Nguyễn Vinh Thành – Lecturer, Faculty of International Economics; MSc. Trịnh Ngọc Hoài Anh – Lecturer, Faculty of International Economics; MSc. Lê Phương Anh – Lecturer, Faculty of International Economics; Ms. Lê Hoàng Quỳnh Anh; and students from the Faculty of International Economics, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.

- From AEON Hà Đông General Merchandise Store & Supermarket: Speaker Trần Thị Thu Hà – Officer, AEON Vietnam Academy; and speaker Phạm Thị Duyên – Head of Food Category 2.

The program began with an engaging mini-game led by speaker Trần Thị Thu Hà, encouraging students to explore key aspects of AEON’s business philosophy, operating model, and notable achievements in both AEON Group and AEON Vietnam. She emphasized AEON’s core philosophy of placing customer satisfaction at the center and continuously innovating to adapt to market trends.

Following this, speaker Phạm Thị Duyên — with over 16 years of experience in the retail sector — shared valuable information about AEON Hà Đông, including the organizational structure of a three-floor General Merchandise Store & Supermarket, AEON’s 2024 business policies, and major activities at the center. She also highlighted the distinctive features of Japanese corporate culture, shaped by two foundational values: integrity and dedication to customer service.

The final Q&A session was lively, with speakers addressing students’ questions on digital transformation in retail, career opportunities, and essential skills for success in modern business environments.

A key highlight of the extracurricular activity was the hands-on experience in which students toured various departments and food sections within AEON Hà Đông, acting as real customers to observe and evaluate the operations of a major retail center. Through this experience, students explored product display methods, supply chain management, and developed skills in market and consumer behavior analysis.

The activity provided valuable knowledge and practical insights, giving students of the Faculty of International Economics a clearer and more comprehensive view of the retail sector amid global integration. It was also an opportunity for students to connect with industry professionals, expand their understanding of the labor market, and strengthen essential skills for future career development.

The Faculty of International Economics sincerely thanks AEON Hà Đông General Merchandise Store & Supermarket and the speakers for offering students the opportunity to experience a real business environment and for sharing their valuable knowledge and expertise. With the support of partners such as AEON Hà Đông, the Faculty looks forward to organizing more meaningful activities in the future.
