“FOIE TOURNAMENT 2021 - Faculty of International Economics in me” - a colorful picture of youth under the economic roof

In November 2021, the Faculty of International Economics - Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam successfully organized the competition "FOIE Tournament 2021 - Faculty of International Economics in me" with enthusiastic interest and response from alumni and students of the Faculty.

Ever since 2021, the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam has officially begun to become a financially autonomous unit, responsible for regular operating costs, and simultaneously become the first university in Vietnam to complete accreditation of all 05 education programs. Along with the completion of the Academy's renovation project, the Academy's training scale has also been expanded when the enrollment target for the 2021-2022 school year has increased by 3 times compared to previous school years. The Faculty of International Economics has also completed procedures to open a new major - International Business under the Faculty of International Economics and officially enrolls students from this school year.

To mark the new developments of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam in general and the Faculty of International Economics in particular, the Faculty of International Economics decided to organize the competition "FOIE Tournament 2021 - Faculty of International Economics in me" with the hope that this will be an opportunity to bond and promote interaction between students and lecturers in a more open environment, as well as an occasion for generations of students to express their gratitude to teachers, showing the tradition of "respecting teachers" on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20 this year. In addition, the contest will be an opportunity for students to freely express their talents and creativity as well as convey meaningful messages throughout their study experience at the Faculty of International Economics. Launched on October 25, 2021 with a very interesting topic: "If you were given a piece of paper, how would you draw your four years studying at the Faculty of International Economics at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam ?", the competition aims at two main groups: students and alumni of the Faculty of International Economics - Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam. The forms of entries are very diverse such as short articles with photos, videos or podcasts because the contest is held online on the social networking platform Facebook.

After 2 weeks of launching, the Organizing Committee of the competition received a total of more than 30 entries with 21 excellent entries passing the Preliminary Round to enter the Voting Round. In the Voting round, the entries are sequentially posted on the Fanpage of the Faculty of International Economics - Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and are graded based on the number of online interactions. By the end of the qualifying round, there had been a total of nearly 10,200 interactions, comments and shares for 21 entries. The total score of the two rounds will be the basis for the Organizing Committee to rank and award the main prizes First - Second - Third, in addition to 2 additional prizes for "Most creative entry" and "Most loved entry". Compared to previous years, FOIE Tournament 2021 was held completely online due to the special developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, but that did not mean that the heat and the spread of the competition were decreased. The fact that quality entries are posted directly to the Faculty's information page creates a new wave, attracting a lot of interest and attention from the community. Commenting on this year's entries, Associate Professor. Dr. Dang Hoang Linh - Head of the Faculty of International Economics, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam said: "I have reviewed more than 20 entries on Facebook, all of them are sincere, thoughtful, full of emotions and memories. Sometimes I feel teary when reading these articles because they are so emotional..." He also shared his joy and pride in the Faculty's students and sent wishes of success and happiness to all members under the roof of International Economics - Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.”

The results of the competition were officially announced on November 19, 2021, ending the competition "FOIE Tournament 2021 - Faculty of International Economics in me" with extremely impressive results.

Overcoming 21 extremely unique exams, the entry from team Rainbow excellently won the First Prize of the FOIE Tournament 2021. Playing the role of a first-year student of the Department of International Economics - Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, Rainbow, just like the name "rainbow", chose the colors of the 7 rainbow colors to paint a picture of 4 years of dreamy college youth in the form of an animated video. With an attractive narrative voice, creative content, and meticulous investment in visuals, the group's entry was highly appreciated by the Organizing Committee and garnered nearly 800 interactions on the Fanpage of the Faculty of International Economics - Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam. In addition, the Second, Third and 2 additional prizes were also named and awarded to individuals/groups with equally excellent and impressive products.

Through the enthusiastic response from students as well as alumni of the Faculty of International Economics, the competition "FOIE TOURNAMENT 2021 - Faculty of International Economics in me" has successfully brought positive meanings, contributing to increasing cohesion among the faculty and students of the Faculty. The entries filled with sincere feelings from the students are precious spiritual gifts of gratitude to teachers on the occasion of the Vietnamese Teachers' Charter Day, November 20. Hopefully in the near future, not only the "FOIE Tournament" but also many other quality competitions will be successfully launched and organized by the Faculty of International Economics - Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam to bring students useful playground and wonderful experiences during 4 years of youth at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.
