👉 Join the Admissions Consulting Team of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam in meeting Mr. Lê Minh - alumnus of Cohort 44, International Law major at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam. He is currently working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a specialist at the Consular Department.

🧩 With many memorable experiences throughout his time studying and doing research at the Academy, Mr. Lê Minh has become an inspiring role model for students who aspire to work in ministries, government agencies, and public institutions, constantly learning and striving for excellence.

🧩 Let’s listen to Mr. Lê Minh’s sharing to better understand how the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam became the perfect missing piece in his journey after high school!

Q: Choosing a university is one of the most important decisions in life. Why did you choose the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam after high school?

Mr. Lê Minh: “Because university is such an important decision, I wanted to study at a school that closely matched my personality and natural tendencies. From a young age, I realized that I am not someone who enjoys conflict. I often find myself in the middle, helping to mediate and find solutions when people around me disagree or have tensions with one another. As a result, I have developed the habit of listening to even the most opposing views and seeking solutions that balance the interests of different sides. I believe that the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, the cradle of outstanding diplomats, is the place that helped me refine and strengthen these qualities”.

Q: What inspired you to become a Vietnamese diplomatic officer during your time studying and conducting research at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam?

Mr. Lê Minh: “My greatest source of inspiration came from someone very close to me, my older sister, who was also a student of the Academy and is now my senior colleague. Even during her time at the Academy, she often shared with me her strong sense of responsibility to contribute and serve the country, especially the responsibility that young people, and particularly students of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, carry toward the Vietnamese diplomatic sector. That ideal left a deep impression on me and has become one of my strongest motivations”.

Q: During your time at the Academy, what meaningful activities did you take part in outside the classroom? How have those experiences contributed to your current work?

Mr. Lê Minh: “I was fortunate to participate in many activities throughout my four years at the Academy, which gradually nurtured my passion and enthusiasm for the diplomatic profession. Opportunities to welcome high-ranking leaders and seasoned diplomats from other countries to the Academy, take part in a simulation of the United Nations Universal Periodic Review mechanism, and support the World Economic Forum WEF 2019 helped me develop a clearer understanding of the diplomatic sector’s efforts to enhance, strengthen, and affirm the country’s position and credibility on the international stage. In addition, I also participated in moot court competitions. These experiences sharpened my critical thinking, strengthened my professional knowledge, and equipped me with practical skills that are directly applicable to my current work”.

Q: The 2023 National High School Graduation Examination will officially take place at the end of this June. Do you have any advice for the candidates, especially DAV K50 Wannabes?

Mr. Lê Minh: “I would like to wish all of you calmness and confidence as you do your very best in the upcoming National High School Graduation Examination. In addition, I would like to share a small message with all candidates, especially DAV K50 Wannabes. In an era that values diversity and personal identity, I hope you will learn how to strike a balance between expressing your own individuality and upholding the traditions and image of DAV students, who are also the future diplomats of Vietnam.
A diplomat is, in many ways, a miniature representation of the country. I hope you will consciously cultivate yourselves to become a reflection of a Vietnam that is dynamic, graceful, well-integrated with the world, yet never losing its own identity”.
