On January 6, 2026, in Hanoi, Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with the Vietnamese youth delegation participating in the Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP) 2026. The meeting took place ahead of the delegation’s departure, reflecting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ attention and high expectations for Vietnamese youth in external relations and international cooperation activities.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang congratulated the 16 official delegates of the Vietnamese delegation who had successfully passed a rigorous selection process to represent Vietnamese youth at SSEAYP 2026. She emphasized that the delegates carry not only personal honor but also the role of “goodwill ambassadors,” contributing to strengthening friendly relations between Vietnam, ASEAN countries, and Japan, while promoting the image of a dynamic, responsible, and deeply integrated Vietnam.

Among this year’s Vietnamese delegation is Pham Hai Nam, a lecturer of the English Faculty, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam. Mr. Pham Hai Nam is one of the 16 official delegates and has been assigned primary responsibility for coordinating workshop content and discussions throughout the program. This is a significant role requiring strong facilitation skills, connectivity, and professional contributions to multilateral discussion groups with youth from ASEAN countries and Japan.

According to the plan, SSEAYP 2026 will take place from January 15 to February 17, 2026, in Japan, Singapore, and Thailand. The Vietnamese delegation will participate in six in-depth discussion groups covering major themes such as quality education; economic growth and sustainable, responsible tourism; environment and climate change; disaster risk reduction and post-disaster recovery; social welfare and social inclusion; and digital society and artificial intelligence. The program also includes youth exchange activities and the promotion of Vietnamese culture.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang highlighted that Vietnam is now engaging in international activities with a proactive mindset of contribution, initiative-sharing, and experience exchange. She expressed her hope that the delegates, including young lecturers and intellectuals, would effectively fulfill their role as bridges of connection, absorb international best practices, and apply and disseminate them in Vietnam’s development process.

As a lecturer of the English Faculty, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, Mr. Pham Hai Nam is well known for more than 10 years of involvement in volunteer activities and youth forums at both national and international levels. His participation in SSEAYP 2026 is not only a personal honor but also contributes to affirming the image of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam’s young faculty members as dynamic, internationally engaged, and socially responsible.

The English Faculty, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, hopes that through SSEAYP 2026, Mr. Pham Hai Nam will bring back valuable experiences, stories, and practical lessons, thereby inspiring and motivating students of the English Faculty in particular, and students of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam in general, on their journey toward international integration.
