The event took place from October 23 to November 4, 2023, at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, featuring many meaningful activities aimed at raising awareness about self-learning capacity in the digital age. This contributed to the successful implementation of the emulation movement “The whole country builds a learning society, promotes lifelong learning for the period 2023–2030.” Simultaneously, the event also aimed to raise individual awareness about environmental protection through the activity of exchanging used books, stories, and textbooks.
The “Lifelong Learning Week” event included two main activities: the series of activities “Building Self-Learning Capacity in the Digital Age” and the “Book Exchange for a Tree” activity.
1. Building Self-Learning Capacity in the Digital Age
In this series of activities, the DAV Book Club displayed slogans and banners to propagate the importance of building self-learning capacity in the digital age.

Following this, the Club successfully organized the Talkshow “8-bit Code of Books” to discuss how books in the universe of science and technology help provide knowledge and cultivate skills for individuals to explore, learn, and develop themselves every day. This, in turn, successfully builds a solid foundation for individual success and the successful creation of a new learning society.
The Talkshow took place on November 4, 2023, at Hall A, DAV, featuring speaker Hai An (a final-year International Business student at RMIT University Vietnam and a study-focused influencer). The discussion focused on two main topics: The advent of E-books – How to utilize e-books in studying and working and Preserving the role of physical books. During the Talkshow, the speaker and the audience discussed, shared viewpoints, and proposed solutions on how to effectively and maximally utilize e-book resources in studying and working, suggesting approaches when engaging with and using new types of e-books.
Alongside the Talkshow, the DAV Book Club intensified efforts to introduce, promote, and propagate the digital library and the lifelong learning movement. Throughout the event, the club posted a series of articles on their fan page about the digital library and placed banners, streamers, and slogans at DAV to promote the digital library.

From October 23 to October 27, 2023, the club organized an interactive activity for direct experience with the digital library, with the aim of introducing the digital library in general and the DAV digital library in particular. The activity attracted the interest and participation of many DAV staff and students seeking to learn about the digital library. Participating students were guided on how to use and directly experience the operation of the digital library with just a few simple steps, allowing them and other readers to conveniently find necessary materials anytime, anywhere, fully serving their study and research needs.

2. Book Exchange for a Tree (Ecobook 2023)
Parallel to the series of activities “Building Self-Learning Capacity in the Digital Age,” the DAV Book Club co-organized the Book Exchange for a Tree (Ecobook 2023) activity. This activity took place from October 23 to October 27, 2023, at DAV and received positive participation from a large number of students both inside and outside the academy.

During the activity, students could exchange old books, newspapers, and stories for green plants, school supplies, or educational materials (books, textbooks, etc.). Through this, the DAV Book Club aimed to provide a diverse range of books to meet the study, reading, and research needs of DAV students and lecturers. Simultaneously, it encouraged young people to collect old paper, books, and newspapers for reuse or to provide to recycling units. This raised individual awareness and contributed to environmental protection by encouraging the reuse of books instead of the production and consumption of new ones.
The Lifelong Learning Week and the event promoting the DAV Digital Library were successfully concluded with the participation and contributions of the entire Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, particularly the Library Room and the DAV Book Club.
