During the meeting, Professor Emiliya Lazarova delivered a guest lecture titled “Adoption of International Environmental Agreements.” This special session offered students a valuable opportunity to experience an international academic environment, explore innovative teaching approaches, and engage with a highly relevant topic in applied economics.
The lecture took place in an enthusiastic and interactive atmosphere. Professor Lazarova began with a brief introduction and quickly engaged students through an interactive activity inspired by Game Theory. In her main lecture, she emphasized the importance of understanding economic and behavioral factors that influence countries’ decisions to participate in and implement international environmental commitments. Students actively asked questions, demonstrating strong interest in the real-world implications of the topic.

Following the lecture, Professor Lazarova introduced the University of East Anglia, with a particular focus on its School of Economics—one of the leading economics schools in the United Kingdom, known for its strong research environment and high-quality academic programs. She provided detailed information about postgraduate programs, internship opportunities, mentoring schemes, and UEA’s diverse and supportive learning environment. A video featuring two Vietnamese Master’s students currently studying at UEA offered authentic insights and practical advice for students of the Faculty.

At the end of the session, representatives from UEA met with the leadership and lecturers of the Faculty of International Economics. Both sides discussed potential future cooperation, including joint training programs, student and staff exchanges, and scholarship opportunities for students of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam. The meeting marked a promising step toward strengthening academic collaboration between the two institutions.

The Faculty of International Economics extends its sincere appreciation to the University of East Anglia for the visit, the productive discussions, and the valuable knowledge shared. This meaningful exchange not only enriched students’ academic experience but also laid an important foundation for deeper cooperation between the Faculty of International Economics – Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and the University of East Anglia in the future.
