


Representing the Diplomatic Academy were Vice President Nguyen Manh Dong, leaders of affiliated departments and around 100 students. The Palestinian delegation was led by H.E. Dr. Varsen Aghabekian, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine and accompanied by Mr. Ameed Abdalrahim, Assistant to the Minister; H.E. Saadi Salama, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Viet Nam; along with other officials from the Palestinian Embassy in Hanoi.


In his opening remarks, Vice President Nguyen Manh Dong extended a warm welcome to the Palestinian delegation. He expressed his pleasure at the Minister’s first official visit to Viet Nam and the Diplomatic Academy, affirming that the exchange marked a significant occasion for the institution. He emphasized that the program not only reinforced the friendship between Viet Nam and Palestine and underscored both nations’ commitment to education, but also offered students valuable opportunities to gain diverse perspectives on diplomacy, politics, culture, and international affairs.

In her remarks, H.E. Minister Varsen Aghabekian conveyed her delight at meeting and engaging with the Academy’s students, whom she called the future diplomats who will continue to serve as bridges fostering Viet Nam - Palestine relations. The Minister highlighted the historical ties and shared struggles for independence between the two nations, while expressing heartfelt gratitude for Viet Nam’s steadfast support and invaluable assistance to Palestine over the years. She also provided updates on recent developments in Palestine, Gaza, and the wider Middle East, which drew keen interest from the audience.

The program continued with a dynamic Q&A session between the students and the Palestinian delegation. Minister Aghabekian expressed her deep appreciation for the thoughtful questions, as well as the genuine sentiments and warm wishes extended by the students to the people of Palestine.

The exchange concluded with a commemorative photo session. Through this engagement, students of the Diplomatic Academy gained meaningful experience interacting with a high-level diplomatic delegation, while broadening their understanding of Palestine and the Middle East, insights that will prove valuable for their academic studies and future research./.
