President Nguyen Hung Son receives the Ambassador of Argentina to Viet Nam

On the afternoon of 5 February 2026, at the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam (DAV), Dr. Nguyen Hung Son, President of the Academy, received H.E. Mr. Marcos A. Bednarski, Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Viet Nam, on the occasion of his courtesy call and working visit to the Academy.

Welcoming Ambassador Marcos A. Bednarski to the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam, President Nguyen Hung Son provided an overview of the Academy’s functions, mandate, organizational structure, and major achievements over more than 65 years of development. He noted that DAV is a public institution under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, serving as a centre for undergraduate and postgraduate education. In addition to its training role, the Academy also functions as a research and policy advisory body for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Its capacity-building activities are conducted not only for officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs but also for officials from other ministries, sectors, and localities nationwide.

President Nguyen Hung Son expressed his agreement with the Ambassador’s proposals and affirmed DAV’s readiness to enhance exchanges and information-sharing on foreign policy and diplomatic practice between the two countries. He also noted the possibility of studying mechanisms for the exchange of young officials to Argentina for professional exposure and experience-sharing.

For his part, Ambassador Marcos A. Bednarski expressed his strong impression of the Academy’s facilities and the scale of its operations, and shared his views on promoting cooperation between the two sides in areas of mutual interest. The Ambassador proposed exploring opportunities for jointly organizing academic activities such as seminars and lectures for students, as well as cultural exchange activities, including programmes introducing Argentina’s distinctive culture and cuisine, such as mate tea tasting sessions and Argentine culinary experience events.

The meeting took place in an open, friendly, and cooperative atmosphere, contributing to the consolidation and expansion of relations between the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam and the Embassy of Argentina in Viet Nam, and positively supporting the further development of Viet Nam–Argentina relations, particularly in the fields of cultural exchange, academic cooperation, and diplomacy./.
