On May 23, the Semi-final round of the DAV Startup 2021 competition was held online successfully with impressive presentations from the teams. Here are 5 best teams of the competition, ready to move on to the final round of the journey.

 

TOP 5 teams competing in DAV Startup 2021

The Semifinals of the competition had the presence of Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Hoang Linh - Head of the Organizing Committee of DAV Startup 2021, Head of the Department of International Economics of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and the Jury Council including:

  1. Ms. Bui Kim Thuy - Senior Representative in Vietnam of the United States - ASEAN Business Council (USABC) - Alumni of the 27th class of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.
  2. Associate Professor, Dr. Do Huong Lan; Deputy Director of the Center for Social Innovation and Entrpreneurship; National Economics University.
  3. Dr. Lam Thanh Ha, Deputy Head of the Faculty of International Economics, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam

Specially, the semi finals also has the participation of the TOP 15 talented teams that have passed the Preliminary round, along with the audience watching and cheering on the teams.

 

Opening the Semifinals , Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Hoang Linh - Head of the Organizing Committee of DAV Startup 2021, Head of the Department of International Economics of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam - shared about the current digital and technological transformation context in the world and the role of innovative startups, a field that is expected to bring major breakthroughs for socio-economic development in Vietnam. Through this competition, the Academy wants to build a useful playground for students who are nurturing the spirit of startup, giving them the opportunity to apply learned knowledge into practice in solving problems around life by coming up with creative startup projects.

In the Semifinals, 15 teams had the opportunity to present and clarify their prepared ideas to the jury and the competition audience. The projects of the competing teams not only demonstrate creativity, but are also associated with the theme of achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals given by the Organizing Commitee.
Bringing a project called "SuperCaring" to the semifinals of DAV Startup 2021, the TLC team impressed the jury with the idea of ​​building a skin care community specifically for men.
Aiming to effectively use leftover food resources from catering businesses, the SHALO team brought to the semifinals a beautiful message about responsible consumption and production, associated with sustainable development.
In their project called "OLD BOOK NEW LIFE", the G2D team came up with the idea of ​​developing a website "Old Book New Life" to help students find and buy old textbooks faster and more conveniently.
With the goal of solving the need for disposing of unsuitable fashion items, the Zootopia team came up with the idea of developing a platform for buying, selling and exchanging used fashion.
Providing solutions to the problem of tourism and unstable output of craft villages, as well as improving students' practical skills, the CRAVI team brought the project to the semifinals of connecting craft village tourism in Viet Nam.

At the end of the presentation, the teams received honest and useful comments from the jury. Through 15 presentations, the competing teams demonstrated the practicality and potential of the project, while also leaving a good impression on the jury and the audience.

Based on the scores of the jury and the online votes of each team in the Preliminary round, the TOP 5 DAV Startup competition - Innovation for Success 2021 has named the teams TLC, SHALO, G2D, Zootopia, CRAVI.

With impressive and creative ideas, the teams promise to bring exciting competition in the upcoming Finals.
