The seminar began with students answering five warm-up questions about AEON Vietnam. This opening activity created a lively and engaging atmosphere while providing an overview of the corporation.

Regarding AEON’s history, the corporation was established in 1989 and has continued to grow strongly to the present day. Mr. Dam Manh Tuan shared AEON’s core philosophy: “Pursuing peace, respecting humanity, and contributing to local communities, with customers at the heart of everything.” AEON believes that retail is a symbol of peace, promoting human values and contributing to local well-being. To continue fulfilling its mission, AEON remains committed to customer-centric values and continuous improvement and innovation.

Since its establishment, AEON Vietnam Co., Ltd. has achieved significant milestones, notably being named one of the Top 7 Ideal Companies in Vietnam in 2016; ranking Top 29 Best Places to Work in Vietnam in 2020; winning the HR Asia “Best Companies to Work for in Asia” award for six consecutive years (2019–2024); and in 2023, being listed among the Top 3 Sustainable Businesses in the Commerce–Services sector. AEON Vietnam was also honored as the first and only company in Vietnam to receive the Marshall Goldsmith Outstanding Coaching Culture Award in 2023.

AEON Vietnam operates not only shopping malls but also specialty stores such as AEON Bicycle Shop, Daiso, AEON Wellness, and most recently, the e-commerce platform AEON Eshop. In its business operations, AEON Vietnam consistently pursues a sustainable development strategy (Environmental Sustainability – Economic Sustainability – Social Sustainability). The speaker also shared insights into AEON’s investment decisions and project management in the Vietnamese market. Key business activities in 2023 included expanding its nationwide retail network, continuing to strengthen business measures, and accelerating market expansion.

Regarding its 2024 business policies, AEON Vietnam aims to realize the corporation’s vision in Vietnam through three foundational pillars: establishing a comprehensive business system, developing product portfolios, and building the brand. This vision is accompanied by four business policies: business expansion, digital transformation and financial services, product and logistics development, and building AEON as a trusted corporation for both customers and employees. The speaker then provided detailed information on career opportunities at AEON Vietnam and expressed hopes of welcoming graduates from the Faculty of International Economics to the organization.

Following the main presentation, the seminar became more interactive as students engaged in a Q&A session. The speaker addressed their questions, shared challenges faced in the early days of establishment, and interacted with the audience through stories on customer experience at AEON.

The seminar concluded successfully in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The Faculty of International Economics – Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam sincerely thanks Mr. Dam Manh Tuan for dedicating his time to share valuable and insightful knowledge with the students. We wish him continued health and success, and hope he will keep inspiring young people and contributing positively to the community in the future.
