

Within the framework of the research project "China's Soft Power in Strategic Competition with the US in the Indo-Pacific Region and Implications for Vietnam," funded by the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED) (Project code: 506.01-2019.300), the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam successfully organized the seminar "China's Soft Power in Strategic Competition with the US and the Regional Landscape in the Post-Trump Era" on January 28, 2021.

The seminar saw the participation of over 70 delegates, including leaders from various units and research agencies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Public Security, the Central Commission for External Relations, and domestic research institutes and universities. The seminar brought together leading experts in foreign strategy research, such as Ambassador Ho Xuan Son - Former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh - Former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huy Quy - Former Director of the Institute for Chinese Studies, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Mr. Ho Si Tue - Advisor to the Center for Strategic Studies and International Relations Development, Mr. Nguyen Vinh Quang - Senior Advisor to the Center for Strategic Studies and International Relations Development, Ambassador Nguyen Hong Hai - Former Consul General of Vietnam in Kunming, and Dr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong - Director of the Institute for Chinese Studies, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, among others.

The seminar holds significant importance in promoting research, substantive, and timely exchanges on new research issues closely related to the opportunities and challenges for Vietnam. Particularly, the seminar opened up prospects for deeper cooperation in strategic research among agencies and research institutes across the country, aligning with the new mission and vision of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam in the new development phase.
