On 3 April 2025, in the Geneva Room of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, the Faculty of International Economics successfully organized the seminar “Cross-Border E-Commerce and Applications for Vietnam.” The event provided students with an opportunity to explore emerging trends, learn about key policies and strategies in cross-border e-commerce, and gain practical insights relevant to Vietnam’s context.

The seminar welcomed:

- From the speakers: Ms. Bùi Thị Thanh Hằng – Chief of Office, Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Mr. Nguyễn Anh Dương – Head of General Research and International Integration Department, Central Institute for Economic Management.

- From the Faculty of International Economics, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam: MSc. Hoàng Ngọc Bích – Lecturer; Ms. Lê Hoàng Quỳnh Anh; and many interested students of the Academy.

The seminar consisted of two main sessions delivered by the two speakers.
The first session featured a presentation by Ms. Bùi Thị Thanh Hằng on “Cross-Border E-Commerce.” She provided in-depth insights into the rapid global growth of e-commerce and addressed key policy and regulatory issues related to e-commerce and cross-border e-commerce in Vietnam. Ms. Hằng also highlighted major policy directions aimed at promoting exports in this sector. Her discussion allowed students to gain both practical knowledge and a clearer understanding of the overall policy landscape governing this field in Vietnam.

The second session continued with a presentation by Mr. Nguyễn Anh Dương. In the context of Vietnam actively negotiating and signing free trade agreements and improving its import–export regulatory framework, favorable conditions have been created for the development of cross-border e-commerce. Mr. Dương analyzed emerging trends and potential opportunities for domestic businesses. From a strategic perspective, he proposed practical solutions to enhance competitiveness and expand market share for this sector in Vietnam.

Before concluding, the seminar featured an energetic Q&A session, where students had the opportunity to raise questions and receive detailed responses from both speakers. The Faculty of International Economics extends its sincere thanks to Ms. Bùi Thị Thanh Hằng and Mr. Nguyễn Anh Dương for their insightful and practical contributions. The knowledge and strategic perspectives shared during the seminar will undoubtedly serve as valuable guidance for students as they navigate their academic paths and future careers.
