Seminar “Economic cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore” - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Khuong

The seminar was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Khuong, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoang Linh - Dean of the Faculty of International Economics, Amb. Tao Thi Thanh Huong - Former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam in Singapore, Dr. Nguyen Vinh Thanh, Dr. Pham Phuong Ngoc, MSc. Tran Thi Thuy Linh and many students of the Faculty of International Economics.

A brief description of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Khuong:

• Master of Business Administration in Harvard University in 1995
• PhD in Public Policy and Economics (2005), whose name is on the golden board of Harvard Kennedy School - Harvard University
• Member of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc's Economic Advisory Group for the 2016-2021 term
• At present, he is a lecturer at Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (National University of Singapore)

In his opening remarks at the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoang Linh - Dean of the Faculty of International Economics gave Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Khuong a bouquet of fresh flowers as a token of appreciation.

Continuing the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Khuong created a friendly and close atmosphere with the students through questions about the remarkable points of Singapore. This helped students express their own understanding and was also a way to discuss around the seminar’s topic to take place in the most open way. After that, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Khuong emphasized that the special thing that helped Singapore develop, is developing, and will develop further in the future is thanks to the “Concept”. When implementing economic development policies, Singapore has had very clear and specific directions and goals, helping to build a strong and stable economy and enhance its position in the region as well as in the world. In cooperation between countries, strategic trust played an important role in helping to build a sustainable relationship. Regarding the economic cooperation relationship between Vietnam - Singapore, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Khuong expressed confidence in the strong relationship between the two countries; emphasizing the cooperation of the two sides to develop to a new height that is stronger, deeper, more comprehensive, sustainable and inclusive, actively contributing to peace, stability and development in the region.

The atmosphere of the seminar became more lively through the questioning session of Amb. Tao Thi Thanh Huong as well as the students. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Khuong answered the questions and also highly appreciated the attention and learning spirit of the students of the Faculty of International Economics. The seminar then ended with confidence in a better future - upgrading the relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Singapore.
