SEMINAR ON “SHAPING A NON-TRADITIONAL CAREER PATH”

On the afternoon of 17 April 2025, the Faculty of International Economics successfully organized the seminar “Shaping a Non-Traditional Career Path.” The event is part of a series of activities designed to provide students with practical insights and guidance for their future careers.

The seminar welcomed the participation of:

- Guest Speaker: Mr. Chia Zhi Wei – Co-Founder of Growth Impact Group and Senior Assistant Director at the Singapore-India Partnership Office, Ministry of Trade and Industry;

- From the Faculty of International Economics, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam: Ms. Tào Thị Thanh Hương – Former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Singapore, Senior Advisor of the Diplomatic Academy; Ms. Lê Hoàng Quỳnh Anh; together with students of the Faculty of International Economics.

During the seminar, Mr. Chia Zhi Wei shared meaningful reflections on his academic journey and career development. His professional experience at leading organizations such as Accenture, Oddle, MTI, and Growth Impact Group has equipped him with diverse skills and a strong aspiration to operate in a global environment. The speaker emphasized that understanding one’s purpose and intrinsic motivation forms the foundation of long-term success. He also highlighted the importance of continuously cultivating a “growth mindset” as a key driver of personal advancement. He encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones to achieve their fullest potential. In addition, building strong relationships and focusing on clear priorities were underscored as essential elements of a successful career path.

During the Q&A session, Mr. Chia Zhi Wei responded thoughtfully to students’ questions, offering perspectives that supported their self-reflection and decision-making. His sincere and insightful sharing provided students of the Faculty of International Economics with valuable lessons and strong motivation to confidently explore and shape their own future pathways. The event reaffirmed the Faculty’s commitment to connecting students with real-world expertise, thereby enhancing training quality and equipping future graduates with solid foundations for their professional journeys.
