On October 2, 2024, the Signing Ceremony of the Letter of Intent between the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam (DAV) and the French Embassy in Viet Nam took place at the Diplomatic Academy. The event marks a significant step forward in promoting cooperation between Viet Nam and France in the fields of education, training, research, and more.

From the DAV, there were Ambassador Pham Lan Dung, Acting President of the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam; Mr. Duong Thanh Binh, Deputy Director of the Office of Administration; Mrs. Nguyen Phuong Anh, Deputy Director of the Foreign Service Training Center (FOSET); and Mr. Le Viet Duyen, Deputy Head of the Department of Science, Information, and Journals, along with representatives from various departments: French Faculty, Institute for Foreign Policy and Strategic Studies, East Sea Institute, International Cooperation Office, Faculty of International Politics and Diplomacy, Faculty of International Law, Faculty of International Economics, and others.

In her speech at the ceremony, Ambassador Pham Lan Dung affirmed that the signing of the Letter of Intent between the DAV and the French Embassy in Viet Nam marks an important milestone and a shared vision between both sides. It is also the result of a long-standing bilateral relationship and a strategic partnership between the two countries, aimed at enhancing cooperation between the DAV and French universities and research institutes in the field of international relations.

Ambassador Olivier Brochet emphasized that the cooperation between the DAV and the French Embassy in Viet Nam has been continuously strengthened in recent years, particularly in the field of French-language studies and professional exchanges. He highlighted that these significant achievements are due in part to the increasing number of French-language students at the DAV each year. With the signing of the Letter of Intent, the already strong cooperation between the two sides will be further reinforced, providing opportunities to enhance collaboration in the present and future.

Additionally, Ambassador Brochet affirmed that the doors to France are always open for the faculty and students of the Diplomatic Academy to continue their studies or pursue research. He also emphasized the availability of scholarships for outstanding individuals who meet the qualifications. Ambassador Brochet also mentioned an upcoming agreement to be signed in Paris between the DAV and the Sciences Po Paris Institute, one of the leading institutions in geopolitical research. He also noted several important upcoming events at the DAV, such as the Francophone and Youth Summit for students from Viet Nam, Laos, and Cambodia from October 14-18, and a seminar on the geopolitical challenges of artificial intelligence in November, with an invitation extended to expert Asma Mhalla.

The Signing Ceremony once again reinforces the confidence in the Viet Nam-France relationship through the Letter of Intent between the DAV and the French Embassy, underscoring the role of both sides in the region's development and the future of the Francophone community./.
